Muon target

■Part

A muon target is used to create muons when accelerated protons hit the graphite target. This equipment is installed at the Materials and Life Science Facility, in J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex).

■Manufacturing technology

Diffusion bonding copper frame body, stainless steel pipe, and a stainless steel part.
Vacuum brazing graphite and copper frame.

HOM damper

■Part

This part absorbs disruptive harmonics generated when electrically charged particles accelerate inside the accelerator under vacuum conditions. High quality electron or proton beams with can be obtained with this part.

■Manufacturing technology

Sintering powder by HIPing and diffusion bonding to copper in a single process.
Vacuum brazing outer tube and copper main body.
Bonding flange to the main body by electron beam welding.
